Monitoring and Customer Support

Monitoring and Technical Support

When it comes to medical monitoring, Philip’s Lifeline wants to ensure its customers are protected 24/7. The medical alert monitoring service is available at all times of day, 365 days a year.

Philip’s Lifeline directly employs Care Specialists rather than hiring contractors, which means they have a hand in training and support. The response center is CSAA certified. Specialists cater to customers who speak multiple languages, and you can expect a quick answer whenever you need to press the alert button.

Specialists are trained to answer within 12 seconds and proactively call if your fall alert goes off, even if you don’t press the alert button. If specialists can’t communicate with you, or if they do determine there’s a medical emergency, they’ll call emergency services immediately.

Philip’s Lifeline specialists are also fully trained in HIPAA compliance to maintain your privacy. You can count on discrete assistance and fully compliant protocols.

Philip’s Lifeline also offers substantial technical support for all of its devices. You can reach a support technician via phone or live chat. The customer service center is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 8: 30 p.m. EST and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. EST.

Customer service representatives will walk you through your options if your equipment breaks or stops functioning properly. Usually, Philip’s Lifeline will replace your equipment for free. If you lose any equipment, there will be a $50-80 replacement fee plus shipping and handling charges.

Some customers posted the following reviews about their experiences:

“I used the Philips Lifeline when I had a stroke, when I couldn’t get up off the bathroom floor, and when my hip became dislocated after I had my surgery. And I check in to make sure it’s working correctly. They’re very responsive, and I’ve had a wonderful response from the people who called back on the service. It’s a lifesaver.”

Isabella, Kansas City, MO

“Old age led me to get a medical alert device. I feel secure and comfortable having the Philips Lifeline. It doesn’t bother me at all wearing it day-to-day.”

Betty, Denver, CO

Some negative reviews cited faulty equipment and high upfront costs. We recommend looking into Philip’s Lifeline’s savings opportunities to take advantage of deals and contacting the support line immediately if you experience faulty equipment.

Company Background

Philip’s Lifeline has been assisting seniors and those in need of medical assistance since the ’70s. Gerontologist Dr. Andrew Dibner founded Philip’s Lifeline after envisioning a system where elders could immediately call for help while they were alone.

Philip’s Lifeline was one of the first companies to provide a medical alert system in America, and its original dedication to safety remains in place today. Philip’s Lifeline has often led innovation in the medical alert space, offering waterproof alert buttons and fall detection in 2010.

The company also has its own research hub to continue its research arm and develop innovative solutions. The research hub is called AgingWell Hub, and it launched in 2015.

Currently, the company services more than 7 million customers. It has more than 45 years of experience in the industry, making it one of the longest-running medical alert companies operational today.

The Bottom Line

Philip’s Lifeline has been committed to health and safety for over 40 years. As a Philip’s Lifeline customer, you can prevent medical emergencies in the home and on the go. Philip’s Lifeline does offer a limited suite of products compared to other companies and doesn’t provide many options for caregiver monitoring or spousal packages. However, Philip’s Lifeline offers products that are easy to install on your own and come at a cost-effective price per month.
